Agenda - 13-August-08
- IPZilla status?
- IP Zillas
- 0.9 will not happen. Only chance left is if contributing someone to Eclipse Legal will help and, if that's the case, if Jim S. can get a person assigned. Current plan:
- Descope everything except CMDBf for COSMOS 1.0. That is, everything except CMDBf will be declared "in research" because items in research do not have to have their legal IP clearance complete
- Of the two IPZillas needed for CMDBf, (2026 DOJO, 2309 log4j) only one has a current target that will enable it to be cleared for COSMOS 1.0. DOJO is planned to be cleared (or rejected) by end of August. DOJO is 3rd on the IP work queue and log4j is 14th. Items 1 through 8 are expected to clear by October. Everything from item 9 and later has no target date.
- To release COSMOS 1.0 on time, we need to have its release review five weeks in advance, which works out to October 10. That is, those two ipzillas need to be reviewed and hopefully cleared by Oct 10.
- We would need the release review slides ready and sent to the EMO (Anne Jacko) in advance of that date
- We would need to discuss the situation with Bjorn, who strongly recommended that we have a point release before COSMOS 1.0.
- Richard finished the doc guides. Link to Richard's docs
- David got someone to generate the HTML for us
- Around the room
Questions from Jimmy @ CA
- Are Data Managers hard-coded in the UI?
The UI does not hard-code the list of data managers. The list of data managers is provided by the data broker. The COSMOS UI queries the data broker to get this list. Information such as the mdrid, display name and supported services is provided for each data manager in the list. The COSMOS UI interprets this information to determine if the data manager is a MDR, statistical datamanager, logging datamanager or a MDR that supports registration services. Based on these categories the COSMOS UI adds the appropriate menu options(e.g. register/deregister CI, submit query, view meta data, etc.) to the navigation node that represents the data manager or MDR. - Security namespaces are now in the Broker?
- Toolkit code generator needs to add stub config files in the project?
It already does. That defect was completed in i12. - Comment: Register all Data Managers now works as part of 233690.
- Comment: i12 E2E will be the same and we will need to ensure these ERs work
