Introduction

The Asset Administration Shell is an emerging standard in the Industry 4.0 community.

It enables the implementation of the Digital Twin for Industry 4.0 and establishes intra and inter-company interoperability.

The Papyrus For Manufacturing toolsets is aligned with the AAS vision for ensuring interoperability. It is based on two open-source tools Papyrus1 and Basyx2: Papyrus for the AAS graphical modeling interface and Basyx for the AAS execution infrastructure.

The toolset implements the AAS metamodel published in the specification, it offers a graphical modeling environment for AAS modules and enables their deployment to the Basyx middleware.
