TPTP-PMC-20090415
Logistics
- Attending: Paul, Kathy, Eugene, Oliver, Chris, ernest
- Any problems with last week's summary?
- No problems
4.5.2.1 status
New style PMC approval defect approval requested messages (see last week), should have started coming
- Kathy asked if everyone is getting them.
- It seems everyone is getting the request but only the approver is getting notification of the approval
Paul notes that in general, the requester should not be approver.
- There is general approval that it would be bad to do that.
IBM asked if 4.5.2.1 builds are starting correctly
- Chris checked and it is happening
TPTP 4.6
Kathy mentioned that a few more defects are being tossed around for promotion to 4.6
Paul has been making good progress on his defects
- Including a few bonus defects
- Test -- I2 test pass patches this week; build over weekend; good to go
Eugene has 2 P1s left hoping to get 1 this week.
- Still analysis phase to identify cause.
- Now looking at refresh of profiling data (then load of profiling data)
- UI part has already been checked in.
Kathy askeds about 260290 patch that is ready but not yet checked in.
Discussion around the segfault from IBM JVM defect
- no response yet from IBM JVM team.
We still need to create documentation skeleton for JVMTI stuff (discussed at F2F)
- Then have the links to web for longer term effort.
- Should appear in schedule for next development milestone.
- A number of other defects do not directly involve code and can be deferred a bit.
Reattach defect 194081
- Yunan sent update that he and Chengrui should have something done in 1-2 weeks.
- after that it can be considered for backport to 4.5.2.1
Build transitions
- Itanium build systems shipping logistics underway
- Serial number discussions underway; systems being touch tested in Oregon
- still 1-2 weeks from shipping
Kathy mentioned that IBM is pretty much ready to cut over the builds except for Itanium
- This should just be a packaging difference (at IBM) for now
- Itanium to switch over when systems arrive.
- Action item to Chris to notify the Beijing guys.
Misc
Kathy asks about confirming that we decided to NOT do pseudo translation request from Planning council
- That was our decision
- Oliver informed planning council folks at meeting and they accepted our position
