Minutes

  1. PTP Status
    • 1.1.1 spin
      • A number of users have reported some bugs in the 1.1 release. We have also found some problems in the debugger that are being corrected. Hope to spin a new release in the next couple of weeks.
    • 2.0 status
      • Work continuing on remote service and it looks likely we'll be able to include PE/LL in the release. Release expected around the end of December. Will being to firm up deliverables and test plan in coming months.

    • Tutorial on Sunday, Nov 11, 8am-12pm
      • Looking for volunteers to help out with the tutorial.
      • Email Greg if you are interested.

  3. STCI Meeting Report
    • Meeting two weeks ago to develop a common, scalable, portable, and extensible communication infrastructure for the deployment of developer tools on the emerging peta- and exa-scale high performance computing systems. See http://stci.wikidot.com for more information.

    • Performance tools
      • Beth has been working with Dan, Shirley and Wyatt
      • Dan is learning how to develop plugins
    • LL/PE
      • Still waiting for approval
      • Working on PE enablement for LL
      • May be able to work on small core improvements
      • Rolf working on keeping up with Dave's code
    • TAU
      • Lots of churn going on
      • Generic support for tools that do recompiling (e.g. VampiTrace)
      • Should commit by end of the week
    • Debugging
      • Monash fixing bugs on PDI
      • Scalability testing on SDM
      • Working on array viewer
      • Their contract runs out at the end of September. Uncertain as to what will happen then.
