Minutes

  1. PTP Status
    • 1.1 release update: Waiting for Tools PMC approval for release review. In mean time, minor build issues fixed, flashing dialog in PLDT fixed.
  2. Project Reports
    • PLDT update
      • Beth reports the progress monitor fixed as well as other minor problems; Build posted on builds page.
    • Resource manager update
      • Craig and Randy are designing a new wire protocol and attribute system that will support more complex RM systems. Needs to support attribute (resource) dependencies for launch configurations. Will have the wiki updated with new system design shortly. Comments would be appreciated. Dave Wootton will provide some examples of resource dependencies. Dave has also discussed with LoadLeveler people. Input from LoadLeveler on RM support would be appreciated. LANL is targeting LSF for their implementation now.
    • TAU update
      • Wyatt has separated out TAU specific components from profiling configuration. This allows other performance tools to hook into same infrastructure. Will attach to bug in a week or two.
    • Fortran update
      • Work on ANTLR based parser continuing. Should have something generating DOM soon. Still waiting for determination on ANTLR IP, but LANL intends to stick with ANTLR for the time being.

If IP concerns prevent inclusion in Eclipse, perhaps distribution elsewhere would be possible. (Sourceforge?)

    • Remote services update
      • HP have contributed a remote framework to CDT. Some aspects seem compatible with our requirements, but unclear how this will fit in with RSE and our work. There is a bug open with the source code as an attachment if people want to take a look.
  1. Other business
    • Beth asked if we could have a CVS branch based on CDT 4.0 so PLDT changes required by CDT 4.0 could be checked in. Craig suggested we just move HEAD to CDT 4.0. Will put this to the vote on ptp-dev list.
    • Rob is interested in porting PTP to BG/L but would like to partner with IBM on effort. Rob will contact IBM off-line to explore interest. LANL can provide technical assistance, but has no cycles to work on it directly.
    • LANL/IBM need to continue discussion on Cell IDE integration with PTP.
    • Ricardo had some questions on runtime/debug operation. Will post to ptp-dev list.
  2. Next meeting: February 13, 2007
