• Release Status
  • 4.0.2 status - Greg will do a build today (N.B. - PTP 4.0.2 released on August 12)
  • SR1 release - will probably be our 4.0.3 (or higher if we have need for bugfixes before then)
    • Eclipse 3.6.1 (SR1) dates are: RC1+2 is Wed 8/11; RC2+2 is 9/1; RC3+2 is 9/8; RC4+2 is 9/15; the +2's are always on Wednesdays and PTP is aggregated in the update site on +2 days)
  • Start thinking about HEAD - Eclipse 3.7 - soon. Probably when CDT has a 3.7 version
    • For Eclipse Indigo (3.7) the update site for aggregation will be different for PTP, to alleviate confusion
• Greg: working on debugger. Being used by X10 - bugs have been filed from Toronto
• Remote support:
  • PTP core works now for remote projects
  • Adding remote support to ETFw, PLDT, and Photran: set a meeting time to discuss this. (Chris & team, Beth, Jeff, and Wyatt interested)
  • Remote support changes - For PTP 5.0? Since it would break API (presumed) for 4.0
  • Generic Remote Launch - new Resource Manager "remote launch" - would also work for Sequential Codes. Wyatt feels this would be extremely useful. Greg plans to add this to HEAD; could add to 4.0 also if there is enough interest.
• SI2 grant - got half funding. Participating organizations are: UOregon (ETFw remote-enabling is part of that!) , LSU, UIUC/NCSA.
• Scalability work - Dave W: working on Protocol/proxy communication - flow control - when proxy floods client with messages
• RDT
  • Chris working on Spawner
  • RSE implementation is unreliable to cancel processes. Will use CDT spawner to send messages to processes
  • Overriding environment vars for a build
  • RDT testing - manual testing is done as part of IBM RDP product
    • Greg: RDT needs to be tested with RemoteTools in addition to RSE. Chris: we are open to it in the future but we are "swamped" right now.
• RDT usage/consumers include (1) IBM RDP and (2) NCSA/Blue Waters
• Roland - PBS proxy questions?
• Helios SR1
  • RC1+2 is Wed 8/11; (4.0.2 will probably be today's build)
  • RC2+2 is 9/1;
  • RC3+2 is 9/8;
  • RC4+2 is 9/15;
  • GA (General Availability) is 9/24 - we assume this will be PTP's 4.0.3 release
• SC Conference (New Orleans Nov 14-19)
  • No word on PTP BOF acceptance yet (N.B. PTP BOF has since been accepted: will be Wed Nov 17, 5:30-7 PM)
  • PTP Tutorial is Sunday Nov 14 all day

    • Oregon - as usual with ASCI

    • Juelich wants us to present at their booth; wkg on scaling with them.
