(02:48:21 PM) Mei-Vern: helloooo
(02:48:22 PM) paulweb515: sorry, I was out
(02:48:43 PM) Mei-Vern: okay brandon said he emailed you his status
(02:48:46 PM) paulweb515: It's OK to mail status this week
(02:48:56 PM) Albert__ [45c9bcdd@gateway/web/freenode/ip.18.104.22.168] entered the room.
(02:48:57 PM) Mei-Vern: oh okay. would you prefer i do that or tell you now?
(02:49:20 PM) paulweb515: Mei-Vern: You can tell me since we're both on now
(02:49:30 PM) Mei-Vern: okay
(02:49:36 PM) Mei-Vern: well I basically finished branch
(02:49:38 PM) Mei-Vern: on the google doc
(02:49:47 PM) Mei-Vern: but there were a few hack-y solutaions
(02:49:57 PM) Mei-Vern: since the node-git library did't have supported functions that we needed
(02:50:00 PM) Mei-Vern: so i'm not sure what to do about htat.
(02:50:10 PM) Mei-Vern: idk if you took a look at the google doc
(02:50:13 PM) Mei-Vern: but it's more organized now
(02:50:18 PM) paulweb515: Thanks
(02:50:27 PM) Albert__: i'm here lol
(02:50:34 PM) Albert__: i did git config GET routes
(02:50:43 PM) Albert__: was kind of hacky too
(02:50:46 PM) Albert__: am parsing the ini file
(02:51:00 PM) Mei-Vern: Yeah I parsed several files too
(02:51:06 PM) paulweb515: OK
(02:51:06 PM) Mei-Vern: Not sure if that's the way we were supposed to do it
(02:51:13 PM) Mei-Vern: but it was the only way I could get the branch info I needed
(02:51:46 PM) paulweb515: OK
(02:51:47 PM) Mei-Vern: That's all for us
(02:51:55 PM) paulweb515: from richard: For the past week, I worked on writing a REST resource file in Node to parse query strings from a request url and return a valid response. The client-side code for search already exists and makes a REST call for every search query but previously there was no server-side logic to respond to that call. Also, it seems like some other developer overrode the Orion FileServiceImpl which contains the client-side logic for search in order to disable the search method so that there is no error when the user makes a search query. I made sure that other files imported the original FileServiceImpl implementation instead of the overriden one.
(02:52:19 PM) Mei-Vern: nice
(02:52:46 PM) paulweb515: and I see brandon's status in my email
(02:53:04 PM) Mei-Vern: Great
(02:53:08 PM) Mei-Vern: Are we good then?
(02:53:25 PM) paulweb515: From Lef: I have started working on git stash since yesterday and one issue I noticed is that 'git stash' doesn't exist in the API specifications. I'm getting it to work by replicating the java server behavior for GET requests in /gitapi/stash/file/A. Maybe it would be useful to give us access to the specs source code so we can fix issues like this and last weeks mismatch between /gitapi/clone and /gitapi/git/clone for git init in the specs. Otherwise I can always post issues I find with specs on IRC or to you directly.
(02:53:39 PM) Mei-Vern: lol
(02:53:42 PM) Mei-Vern: There are a lot of issues like this
(02:53:48 PM) Mei-Vern: The library isn't very good
(02:53:55 PM) Mei-Vern: And we've been running into a few limitations
(02:53:59 PM) paulweb515: It's the excitement of an existing code base :-)
(02:54:10 PM) paulweb515: OK, I don't have anything else
(02:54:35 PM) Albert__: alright have a great week
(02:54:37 PM) Albert__: see ya
(02:54:40 PM) paulweb515: bye
