went through the list of open API related bugs and found 14.
Also went through the API report
there was a lot of discussion about individual bugs and the process
Jeff to send a reiterating message to the lists
Team to review the bugs and make clear what they really want/need.

Contribution for variable substitution in the launcher

got a third party contribution to do var substitution in the laucher for the launcher.ini file contents
the code is not too big but it seems like a significant change to behaviour and risky
decided to defer inclusion until after 3.6
