- Planning for Application Refactoring/Development
Ken had an interesting idea: Create JFace content providers and add these to a library of ECF-enabled UI widgets rather than creating full views/editors, etc. That way developers could use their own UI widgets/code, and the ECF UI package would allow them to simply embed content providers that 'knew' about ECF messaging for updating their internal state. Ken will be sending a message to the ECF newsgroup and the ecf-dev@eclipse.org mailing list to detail the idea.
- Server Migration to 0.9.3 - The server running at ecftcp://ecf.eclipse.org:3282/server is currently running an old and incompatible version of ECF...~0.9.0. The server needs to be updated to run under 0.9.3 so new clients and the example collab application will function. Currently, the server is running Tomcat 5.5.X and running Equinox inside of Tomcat (Embedding Equinox in Servlet Container). It would probably be better to move to using the other strategy (Embedding HTTP server in Equinox).
