Indigo Plan and Schedule

Are we agreed to Indigo dates ? All shifted by one calendar day (to keep same day of week). Can we say these are official?

Proposal for 3.7 versus 4.1

For planning documents, etc. we'll call 3.7 based work Indigo Minor, and 4.1 based work Indigo Major.

For this plan, more so than previous years, there will need to be adjustments based on experience over next few months.

Ideally focus would be on 4.1 based work. But final plans need to be based on where projects want to focus, and what proves suitable.

Main goal: participating projects must work with or contribute to both platform levels.

There's several options to accomplish this -- and participating projects must explicitly state what their plans are, what they support.

  • One set of plugins work with both versions.
  • Projects contribute "maintenance only" to Indigo Minor, but branch and all new work done assumes Indigo Major

EPP Packages: Ideally, EPP packages would be based on 4.1 (only). If experience shows 4.1 is not ready, or if projects can not fully move to 4.1, then this needs to be dropped back to 3.7 (only). It may be possible that each "package owner" can decide which they want. [Would this make sense?]

Issue: Can all bundles reside in one repo, and correct ones "pulled out" by P2? (can this be done easily, that is).

Issue: If focus is on one stack, how to "test" other stack?
