Security

• Security has an API request into the PMC for hints
• No patch in hand yet
• Unless its something that we never think we will do, we should just do a patch anyways
• If it doesn't go in now then it will probably be pushed to 3.5 (we don't normally add API in point releases)
• The request is to add new optional attribute to an extension point in a schema
• Could consider having an internal attribute on the schema for now to handle our cases
• Problem is that there are other providers coming down the pipes who will want to use it

Launcher

• There is a BIDI bug against the launcher
• File encoding on the Mac didn't agree with the system encoding
• Andrew has a patch but just needs to test it
• Also another bug (223467) about not being able to launch in a DBCS folder
• Also working on identifying the Sun VM on Linux

Translation Problem

• There is a problem with translations when they are put in the dropins folder
• Problem is that the registry has already been started before the bundles in the dropins are resolved
• So first startup only some things will be translated (only things contributed by commands)
• Problem is described in bug 230421
• Can we clear the registry cache when we detect a fragment has been added?
• Are there changes we could do in p2 to fix this?
• Tom will take initial assignment and pass it on to Oleg after initial investigation

Bugs

• If bugs have a 3.4 milestone set, then we need to either set a real milestone or remove the target
