  • Project Plans Schedule (review progress)
    • Project Plan XML format changed (for namespaces). See Development Resources/Project Plan for details. Now also includes infos on tooling (WTP's XML editor), converting from non-namespace variant, and getting started with the XML.

    • RTSC
      • Done except for actual bugzilla's
    • TM
      • Done, found the plan document to be very powerful

    • Final version: Sept 15
    • Roadmap generation: Sept 30
    • All: Finish project plans by Sept 15 in prep for Board meeting.
  • (no update) Committer voting - need to update this section from our email thread.
    • Martin suggested we establish some official guideline for committers.
    • Propose 3 good records of contribution: patches in bugzilla, good mailing list contributions. Ok if one of those records is from another project.
  • DSDP presentation to Board in September
    • Reports are looking good. Feedback sent to individual folks.
  • EETimes India article - passed the deadline - apparently no interest or time to work on.
  • ESE - Several submissions - waiting to see what is accepted.
  • Packaging proposal (no update today)
    • The wiki page has ideas, roadmap, initial steps, and initial package list.
    • Dave thinks it's a great idea. Dave would like to get RTSC into the package at some point in the future.
    • Words of support from Doug.
  • DSDP Incubator project (no progress or update today)
    • Unanimous approval to create the incubator. Doug: create the DSDP incubator and build the initial website.
  • Project Updates
    • DD
      • 1.1 in November. M2 just completed. Features done. Stabilization in progress.
      • CDT project discussion ongoing. Contingency is a stronger component model with better process.
    • eRCP
      • Respin of 1.2 release to refresh version numbers.
      • Move to RT still planned, but not schedule. Gorkem would like eSWT to be a separate project. Mark isn't convinced.
      • Upcoming plan - S60 eRCP contribution at a 1.1 level. They are not committing to 1.2 level.
      • OSGi standardization - Eclipse asked for some assurances from the OSGi board about control of technology. OGSi meeting 15-16, hopefully will ratify that letter.
    • MTJ
      • Preparing for release review.
      • All: Please vote for the MTJ release review on mailing list.
      • Sybase committer coming on board.
      • Craig is trying to encourage folks to move to MTJ after the 0.9 release.
      • Christian: Write up an explanation of the EclipseME transition to MTJ and post on the Web. Explain the version numbering of Eclipse and make a statement about technical maturity of MTJ.
    • NAB
      • 3 new features to NAB - entered on Bugzilla.
      • Discussing the schedule for these enhancements.
      • Working on Japanese translation project.
      • Bugzilla 3.2 Japanese Template TBD.
    • RTSC (skip)
    • TM
      • Maintenance and bug fixing of product-related bugs.
      • TCF - MV is getting more active now.
      • GSoC student - had to give him a negative remark because he wasn't able to finish his work.
      • (no update) Releng - Nick Boldt is working on moving viewCVS to project dash (among other things). This will be one officially copy, which will allow access from the main web site. Nick is working on a vmware image for automated builds.
    • TmL (no update)
      • Preparing for TmL 0.1 Release for September 2008 release.
      • Fabio is moving the project source code from CVS to SVN prior to the 0.1 release. As part of this change, he is removing some deprecated sources that are no longer used. He will modify the automated build scripts and the update site accordingly.
      • We have a project plan with milestone dates for being on the June 2009 train release. The plan is in XML format on eclipse.org. The Eldorado team in Brazil are working toward these dates.
      • Motorola is currently integrating TmL into their commercial MOTODEV Studio product(s). Should be finished in October with some code contributions coming into TmL from the Studio teams.
      • Otavio has completed the /proc filesystem proof-of-concept using meminfo. He is currently working on the 'top' command. Once he is done with these two, he will work on providing extension points for other developers to add to this feature. This would be a good place for interns and Summer of Code participants to interact with an Eclipse project.
      • We would like to nominate Yu-Fen Ko from MontaVista as a committer once TmL 0.1 is released, based on her contributions to the project. However, she will then be on maternity leave starting some time this fall. The question is how to have her as a committer status "on hold" until she returns after the start of the year.
      • Eric and Christian presenting TmL later today (Thursday) at Linux World in SFO.
  • Next Meeting: TBD.
