In various roles, Karsten Schmidt has been involved in SAP’s Java design time develoment from the very beginning in 2000. He was a driver for the decision in 2002 to base the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio on Eclipse.

Karsten is SAP’s development contact for Eclipse. He is the representative of the Strategic Consumers in both the Architecture and the Planning Council.

SAP is actively contributing to WTP and has donated the Memory Analyzer to Eclipse.
