Eclipse Day
Here are some guidelines and tips to help you plan an Eclipse Day for your local community.
Eclipse Funding
Criteria for sponsorship of an Eclipse Day or an Eclipse Summit are:
- It must be organized by an Eclipse member company
- It must be open to all members
- The event must be a community event, with preference given to events that have multiple organizers or sponsors
- The event must be at least 1 full day
- The content should demonstrate significant content in a published agenda
- There must be a web site for the event that is open to the public, and that lists the event's program
- Attendance must be more than 50 people
The Eclipse Foundation will offer approved events:
- $2,000 USD
- A community bulletin on the eclipse.org homepage
- Listing in the monthly Eclipse Member Newsletter email
- Listing in the online Community Events calendar
- Wiki space, if needed, for the event's homepage
Promotion Opportunities Checklist
- Submit a press release or news announcement on your Summit Day to news@eclipse.org for the http://www.eclipse.org homepage and RSS feeds
- Submit a press release or news announcement on your Summit Day to http://www.eclipseplugincentral.com/Submit_News+index.html for the http://www.eclipseplugincentral.com (EPIC) homepage
- Email details of your event to events@eclipse.org to be posted on the Community Events calendar at http://www.eclipse.org/community/events/
- Post details of your event to an Eclipse newsgroup at http://www.eclipse.org/newsgroups/ - eclipse.foundation is probably best
- Post details of your event to Eclipsepedia at http://wiki.eclipse.org/Conferences
- Blog about your event - it's especially helpful if the writer's blog is aggregated on http://www.planeteclipse.org
- Record a podcast or video interview on your event and submit it to http://live.eclipse.org
