I think this example needs to be updated. As best I can tell, the sample database it uses is not the one that comes with the BIRT runtime, but rather, it's one that you have to install Netbeans to get. Also, it uses the Andalus font, and when I try to run the report with the BIRT engine from the command line, I get this error:
