My use of Eclipse

I use Eclipse for individual software development, primarily in Python and PHP. I also use Prolog, C/C++, and will someday use Java. I'm not really a fan of Eclipse, I just want to get the Eclipse platform installed, so I can get the language-specific plug-ins I want, so that I can get on with my software development.

As of March 2014, my current Eclipse distro is the mainstream Eclipse Kepler, with many language toolkits installed. I mostly use PyDev and EGit features.

As of November 2011, my current Eclipse distro used to be EasyEclipse for Python 1.3.1 for Mac OS X 10.5.8. However, the EasyEclipse project seems to have fallen into inactivity. In the meantime, the mainstream distro of Eclipse seems to be much more accessible on Macs than it was a few years ago. Maybe the mainstream distro is now easy enough that the "EasyEclipse" project is no longer essential.
