** Mik: that's a good point.  The reason we moved away from the "identifying label" idea is that this is a UI notion.  Also, many task repositories (Bugzilla excluded) have a concrete notion of a key.  So we decided to make "key" a primary term in the API.  Note that this is in addition to "id", which is what we use internally to determine task identity (e.g. in JIRA task keys can change when moving tasks).  But the main utility of task keys is still the ability for the user to refer to them, e.g. in a hyperlink.

    • Mik: that's a good point. The reason we moved away from the "identifying label" idea is that this is a UI notion. Also, many task repositories (Bugzilla excluded) have a concrete notion of a key. So we decided to make "key" a primary term in the API.
