Do the GMF guys plan to change the way they generate their IP logs? If we're going to put energy into adopting/improving automatic IP generation, it would be ideal if the whole Modeling project used the same conventions... Are the conventions used by GMF not sufficient?

Well, GMF tracks the bug's title but not the person who committed the fix, and Component by name rather than cvs module. They also track only email address instead of contributor name [1].

IANAL, but I think we're required to store more information than they do, so I'd be curious if they'd be interested in moving to our format instead of vice versa.
