Dear Sir,

We think that you should be interested in the Polarsys Industry Working Group that was just created in the Eclipse Foundation.

The goal is to organize the open source and business ecosystem around tools for the development of dependable embedded systems in order to create better tooling and to enable long term support for these tools.

As indicated in the proposal (http://wiki.eclipse.org/Polarsys/Proposal), Polarsys focuses on four main points:

  • Open Innovation to create better methods and tools
  • Computer Assistance and Automation with a focus on Model Based System Engineering
  • Certification to ease the tools qualification in complex certification processe
  • Very Long Term Support because Embedded Systems and tools may be matinained for 40 years or more

We are currently mainly based in Europe (France, Italy, Germany, Spain), but we intend develop our community worldwide.

We take the opportunity of Eclipse Con 2012 to organize an information and discussion meeting in Reston (Virginia).

We strongly advice you to attend Eclipse Con 2012 (http://www.eclipsecon.org/2012/registration) but in all cases you will be able to attend the Polarsys meeting for free. Please get the details of the event and register at http://polarsys-econ.eventbrite.com Please notice that due to the limited number of places, registration is mandatory to participate to the meeting.

We hope to see you there.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information.
