Announcements

Any names objectionable from the start? I think Chris did a good job of screening them, but one person, in bug 422883, cautioned against using 'magellan'.

Kepler SR2

  • We were reminded that CDT, Linux Tools, and EGit (at least) would be having "new releases" in SR2. PMC reps, please keep tabs on your projects and make sure they they are transparent in making "minor upgrades" and keep their PMCs and community informed of what's to come.

Luna Planning

  • Follow-up: Review Policy Wording and Requirements:
I incorporated the wording in the FAQ. See SimRel/Simultaneous_Release_Policy_FAQ, the note that starts "[added April, 2013, modified November 2013]".
We approved requirements for Luna?
This time I remembered to "send the note" but wanted to document in these minutes in case it gets "lost in list".
  • Remember to comment in bug 423734 about requiring Java 7 for all EPP packages, if you haven't yet, and if you have an opinion. (Just as "leaders in Eclipse" ... not really our Planning Council's decision. Seems to be trending towards "consistency" ... but ... I think still some inconsistencies in how "products" handle it, vs. p2 (i.e. with p2, people could easily "create" a Java 6 version of EPP package).
  • David to send out note soon of who had disabled contributions/features in M4, which will be removed. And, somehow, compare notes with Wayne to make sure our lists of "who is in" match.

Progress on Action Items

  • GSoC project for "Development Channel"? (Wayne)
While GSoC is over, for a year, Wayne will at least recall history and open a bug for this..
  • Improved "aggregator examples/doc". (dw -- no progress).
  • [Orbit plan (dw -- no formal progress)]
  • Complete Google Calendar. (dw)
  • Compute Luna SR dates. (dw)

Next Meeting

  • February 5, 2014 - Regular First Wednesday Meeting
