• Overall project, releases, etc.
  • 6.0.x Juno branch - any activity? none seen; post to ptp-dev if you need a build.
    • After Kepler release sometime, it will become 'release' and new work post-7.0 will be master.
    • Beth suggests changing build names to not use 'master' for both (1) git branch and (2) aggregate build. Beth will open a bug to track.
  • 7.0.0 Kepler master branch
    • RC4+3 (PTP last build) is tomorrow June 12 - cutoff is 5pm ET - get changes in early - Greg is working on ISV docs; Beth is working on user docs; Trying to get APIs set and documented properly to reduce future churn. Greg working on ISV/developer documentation as good as possible. Risk to change stuff so late, but it should be mostly comments so should be ok.
    • APIs - determination of what should be API; maintain doc, maintain API, exporting. API changes cause a version increment.
      • Dave W asks about LSF custom widgets, should they be API or not.
        • MANIFEST.MF: exported if no export-package, then nothing is API - see also in runtime tab. if nothing there, nothing is API. In future might want to export everything but keep internal, so others can use it (with only warnings)
        • Are there any tools to help? Look at manifest in each plugin and look at what's exported - look at package, and classes in it.
      • x-internal internal and not visible; x-friends internal (plugins referring to your code don't get the warning) . ISSUE: exported-packages whose visibility is visible to downstream plugins (neither x-internal or x-friends annotation)
      • Other release info: Release review is June 12 (tomorrow), Greg provided review documentation - available on project page - http://projects.eclipse.org, choose tools, ptp, link to releases (current, next release) - next release tab has description, project plan. Review tab is info to be used for release review. including Q&A. IPLog info has been updated by Greg. Lists all contributions back to beginning of PTP. Subproject Photran considered part of PTP, included in all releases.
    • Kepler release is Wednesday June 26
    • Need to update New&Noteworthy (can be after tomorrow's build but before June 26).
    • Bug List: Need to include a bug list with that - in bugs be sure to set target milestone for fixes so we can query this bug list.
  • Downloads (see bottom of page) - Juno Parallel package is 116,055 as of today

    • links to optional features (e.g. GEM) - problem is Parallel Package does not have GEM installed and it is linked in the toc.html. toc.xml builds dynamic TOC and is not a problem, but we can't link to its results with URL. Too late for Kepler but we can address for future releases. Need complete docs somewhere, but don't want broken links in some cases.
    • need updated PTP 7.0 screenshots for TSC's: SLURM, GridEngine, ... Jay can get some. Beth will ask on ptp-dev

  • XSEDE tutorial July 22 - on Kepler!
  • SciComp tutorial May (Greg) - report - tutorial based on Kepler, about 15 attendees (of 50 at conference) - enthusiastic response, lots of questions, audience really saw the value. Network connection at hotel was problematic by Sync projects and monitoring worked fairly well. Also covered IBM product PE Developer Edition
  • Next PTP Users Call - June 26 - Topic: tour of new features in Kepler - e.g. ETFw, Sync projects, Env Mgmt, LSF
  • Potential PTP user-developer meeting in September in Chicago Sept 14-15 or 16-17. Jay will let us know.
  • Next ptp-dev meeting July 10
