Location Industry Working Group

Location technology is technology for tracking, analysing, and visualizing relative location measured in some dimensions. This technology can be applied to space and time such as on earth. It is also often used for circuit design, warehouses, and other arbitrary dimensions.

Initiative Goals

Assemble a consortium of companies to:

  1. Collaborate on location related research
  2. Share costs, risks, and benefits to develop and sustain reusable commodity & innovative location technology
  3. Drive increased adoption of location technology, and adoption of reference implementation standards based technology
  4. Participate in joint marketing, events

Lead projects

The Location IWG will provide a forge (code repository, bug tracker, build farm, etc.) for related technology. The following are projects that plan to host in this facility.
