Hello! I am a Computer Science student studying in Bangalore and recently started doing my project in JAVA.Soon I realized that command line JDK consoles was getting me no where and when I started searching for a JAVA IDE for ubuntu linux to my dismay I found none, nothing that is worth mentioning anyway, that was until I came across eclipse.I really love its seamless interface.WoW!

I wish to thank the entire eclipse team for this wonderful product. Thanks a lot.Keep up the good work.

I installed Eclipse Ganymede and, using help from the Mingw site (http://www.mingw.org/) I was able to get my code compiled with Gnu C and running on Windows with very little effort. I've now got wonderful visibility in to the guts of my embedded code and I can take the source files, unchanged, and compile them for my embedded application after debugging. So, sincere thanks for emancipating me from the 4k code limit of my little PIC 16F690 processor!

Wow! I'm having a great time discovering Eclipse. [snip] Eclipse is accelerating my project forward. [snip]
It's also cool that Eclipse is so easy to download and install, this has made it so easy to use even at my day job where I can poke away at it for a few hours each day as well. [snip] Thank you so much for making an IDE that is going to make me much more productive faster and allow me to finally realize a dream for some new software.

I can't tell you how happy I was to (after upgrading to Europa) [snip]. I'm tickled by spell-checking in comments, happy with enhanced generics support, just overall happy with the new version. But it's your attention to little things like this checkbox, polishing the user experience, that give me the biggest satisfaction. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

I have just started working for a company that is a client and user of Eclipse, and I have been tasked with turning all the documentation over to a web-based system. I saw the Eclipse help pages at http://help.eclipse.org/help32/ and loved the interface. Very intuitive, not to mention easy to use.

I would like to extends my heartiest congratulation to one and all in the eclipse project(s), for a successful release and bringing together an excellent product in place. I am really overwhelmed by the infrastructure of Eclipse 3.3. Thank you for making my faith ever stronger in the Open Source domain and specifically in Eclipse.
I am a developer. And often work on Java/J2EE , C/C++ and Scripting Techs (PHP, Perl, Python, Shell, Ruby). I have also worked on PHP. And I am proud of the fact that I am a loyal Eclipse user. Many Thanks again for the excellent.

Eclipse 3.3 with CDT 4.0 is an excellent programming environment.
I am ecstatically waiting for the Eclipse Europa release.

I had a case the other day where I needed to back-port a class from 1.5 to a 1.3 jre, and put it out in a 1.1 compatible class file. After spending an hours or so fooling with an old command-line compilation project that was done in 1.3, it hit me that Eclipse might be able to handle this.
So I created a new project, set project-specific options for jdk version and class format version, and it worked first try! Good stuff...

if there were 60+ projects like webtools then the eclipse ecosystem would be truly great indeed.

Eclipse works *great*. It has much better (and more thorough) on-line help than Microsoft's on-line stuff (a *real* tutorial, for example; in fact, several) . I am taking my time and going through the Workbench tutorial for starters, function by function.

I just wanted to say that the eclipse project and its surrounding environment with third party plugins etc is one of the most beautiful projects man made.

Having been a professional Java programmer for about 5 or so years, and in the midst of a pretty large OpenGL/Java application, I recently tried Eclipse after the most recent of my friends recommended that I try it, and I've been using it for about a month now.
I very rarely write to authors of software - mostly I don't feel the need - but with Eclipse I feel that I must make an exception.
This is categorically the single best piece of software I've ever seen, and I am absolutely blown away by it. Having been someone who has always programmed in vim + command line, I never thought that I'd really enjoy using an IDE, and have tried about 5 without success until this one.
The tight integration with JUnit is simply amazing - and I've fallen in love with the hit-test-button-look-for-green-bar cycle. The debugger is absolutely second-to-none - I love it. The integration with CVS is utterly seamless, and whilst the SubClipse plugin has a little way to go, it's really already quite excellent. The configurability of Eclipse, with respect to tieing it in to my coding style, leaves me with my jaw hanging. An avid perl-hacker many of my Java-projects require a fair amount of perl-maintenance, and Eclipse integrates with my Cygwin environment in an exceptionally intuitive manner. I could go on and on, but won't bore you - you're well aware of the quality of the software having written it yourself...
So I'll just say - a big thank you to all on the Eclipse team. I take my hat off to you.
A very happy Coder.

I don't want to knock Netbeans too much but I do have to admit Eclipse is easier on my eyes when it comes to staring at the screen. I'm short sighted so I have to wear glasses all the time. I find Eclipse is very comfortable to stare at while Netbeans seems a little harsh on my eyes.
