[[GEF/GEF4 |'''GEF4:''']] GEF is a mature project with stable API, which is bound to Eclipse API retention policy. To develop innovations without interfering with the Draw2d/GEF 3.x and Zest 1.x development stream, we have started to work on a GEF4 provisional component. The Graphical Editing Framework (GEF) project provides technology to realize rich graphical editors and views. It is currently developed in two streams, namely:

Draw2d / GEF (MVC) 3.x & Zest 1.x GEF4
Draw2d/GEF (MVC) 3.x & Zest 1.x GEF4

While the original project components Draw2d 3.x, GEF (MVC) 3.x, and Zest 1.x are still maintained, they will not be developed further. Our main development effort is currently spent on building up the next generation components in terms of GEF4.
