Linguistic guidelines

Cheat Sheets: Learn how: Beaucoup de Cheat sheets commencent par Learn how, il serait bien d'homogénéiser les traductions. Je propose "Apprenez à" .... c'était d'ailleurs la traduction utilisée dans les versions précédentes.

Capitalization

Capitalize only the first letter of the first word in menus, commands, and dialog box options. Save As = Enregistrer sous Only product names or plug-in names should contain capitalized letters

Here are the general rules when translating software files.


Typo conventions

General typo rules for UI and Doc/Help

  • Capital letters are not accented
  • Punctuation marks like exclamation point ( ! ), question mark ( ? ), colon ( : ) and semi-colon ( ; ) are preceeded and followed by a space. Ex: **Error ! , Enter : text
  • The space is also used between numbers and the percentage symbol (3 %)

It is also used between numbers and abbreviations such as cm, mm, Ko, etc. (3 cm).
