Eclipse RAP to the Rescue

Whether training for, or managing large-scale emergencies, collaboration is key. Information management tools that support a customizable operating picture allow information to be effectively structured and distributed to key players.

The Rich Ajax Platform (RAP) – a Java framework for writing web-applications and rich clients from a single code base – and other Eclipse technologies have empowered us to create simulations and information dashboards that have been highly effective in various training and operational settings.

Come to this talk to find out how Eclipse RAP:

• Will be used to train emergency response decision makers from around the country
• Is employed today in bio-surveillance efforts at the national level
• Is used to help train our coastal protection forces
• Will be used in the near future to prevent and manage the spread of animal disease
• Will aid in the management of electronic warfare

We will start with a brief overview of the Eclipse RAP, present how it is used in real world projects and conclude with lessons learned.
