The EclipseLink committers have a regular meeting (currently weekly) to discuss ongoing development issues and projects. All interested parties are welcome to attend. If you have any additional items you wished discussed please add them at the bottom of the agenda including a brief description and any relevant links. Alternatively development issues can be discussed on the EclipseLink Dev mailing list.

* When adding agenda items please send an email to the eclipselink-dev@eclipse.org list notifying attendees. This will ensure attendees are aware of agenda items prior to the meeting.

Migration to Git

  • Dev process FAQ

  • Transition targeted for July
    • Refresh of test Repo coming - late June
      • Will contain "hanging" branches. (Only trunk is viable).
    • Initial Internal repos targetted for availability third week of July to include:
      • Normalized branches
      • translated build labels
      • stripped of binaries
      • updated build for Git use (change in qualifiers)
    • Once Internal prototype complete
      • Dev to verify repositories
      • Once verified will be given to webmasters for posting
      • Once on site SVN will be made read-only, and newer transactions will need to be migrated.
  • Status
    • Getting new copy of SVN repository
    • Will begin normalizing during quiet week.
    • migration to Git to begin soon after
      • Means we will have several weeks transactions on trunk to re-submit post-migration.

QA

June 14-21, 2012:

  • EclipseLink Nightly Results (Updated on 2012-06-21)
    • trunk - 1 new failure with foundation test-non-lrg - investigating; 1 new failure with oracle extension testing - investigating; 2 new failures with jpa-lrg - developer is investigating; 4 new failures with jpa non-weaving testing \-investigating; all jaxrs and jpars testing failed on Glassfish-4 during deployment - investigating. (the last build is 2012-06-21)
    • 2.4.0 - no new issue (the last build is 2012-06-14)
    • 2.3.3 - no new issue (the last build is 2012-06-15)
  • Testing
    • 2.4 Release Testing - Complete!
      • EL 2.4 new failues with jpa on jrockit16 - resolved, test env issue; bug: 382633
      • Manually run EL 2.4 (RC2 - 20120608 build) jpa testing on JBoss-7.1.1 on both jdk16 and jdk17, but currently still have issues with multiple PU testing (java.lang.ClassCastException) and classloading issue
      • Completed HA/RAC testing
      • JAX-RS / Windows 64
    • 2.3.3 Release Testing
      • Perform EL2.3.3 on wls 12.1.1 different weaving (static and no weaving), and data-source (JTA/non-JTA) manually testing on Oracle 11.2.0.3.
  • Test Dev
    • JPA-RS tests running on WebLogic Server -- resolved
      • Working on automation scripts for WLS 12.1.1
    • OpenJDK testing investigation...
      • Not for end users, doesn't ship binaries; used by platform developers to build end user JDKs
      • There is OEL 5 distro JDK based on OpenJDK - will set up nightly tests against this JDK
    • Refactored setup for GF testing against MongoDB
  • Test infrastructure
    • JPA automated testing support for JBoss 7 - in progress, still a long list of tasks before full automation; can run most of the tests manually though
  • This week:
    • Add JBoss 7 to nightly testing
    • DBWS tests on JBoss 7
    • 2.3.3 Testing
    • JPA-RS for WebLogic
    • Upgrade Spring to 3.1
  • Backlog:
    • Investigating Enable JPA 1.0 TCK on GlassFish v3
    • Review table-per-tenant functionality
    • Add Open JDK certification tests

    • Enable JPA 1.0 TCK on GlassFish v3
    • 370988 - JAX-RS tests need to be separate project in order to avoid dependency issues in Eclipse IDE
    • oracle specific tests failures on GlassFish - tried suggestions from dev, but not successful - on hold
    • optimize setup/teardown of JAXB junit testcases

Build

June 14, 2012:

  • Milestone Releases
    • 2.4.0-RC2 (June 8th build)
    • 2.4.0-RC2 (June 13th P2 refresh (remove jpars))
    • Milestone old branches: 1.2.1, 2.0.3, 2.1.4, 2.2.2
      • Team seems to concur with plan. Will begin cleanup Tomorrow.
  • Remove old build pathways
    • mostly complete.
    • working on converting Oracle build to Tycho
  • release prep...
    • looks good... holding for release

    • working on 'git exersizes' for training
    • new svn copy soon
    • targeting 3rd week of Junly to have local copies of migrated repos for review
