JPA specification 2.1 has introduced support for executing Stored Procedure calls. This includes a new StoredProcedureQuery API and Named Stored Procedure Queries.
Stored Procedure are pre-existing portions of code on the database that can be called through a standard syntax. JDBC has support for calling Stored Procedures. Support is available for returning multiple resultsets and multiple update result counts as well.
Beyond implementation of the APIs ensure the surrounding behavioural requirements as outlined in section 3.8 are met included returning multiple result sets and multiple update counts.
