The builds are available as "update sites". To install one in Eclipse 3.6, go to Help > Install New Software in your workbench.  Enter http://download.eclipse.org/edt/updates/nightly in the Work With field and press Add.  Give the update site a name and press OK. Check the box for the EDT Feature under the build and press the Next button.  You'll be prompted to accept the license, and once the new feature is installed you'll be prompted to restart.

What can you do with the builds?  At the moment you can compile EGL files, but that's about all. We have started working on the generators, but they can't do very much yet.

[edit] Quality and types of builds

At this time, we run Nightly builds, Milestone builds, and Release builds. Nightly builds are not tested and they may be unstable. Milestone and Release builds are well tested.

We make several kinds of builds. In addition to the update site, our Release builds are available as an entire standalone IDE.

In the future, we'll also make builds that contain subsets of EDT. For example, one build might contain only the EGL compiler and tools for working with IRs. Another build might be an EDT SDK which includes everything except the EDT UI tooling and debugger.
