BIRT 2.2.2 Development
The development plan for BIRT 2.2.2 was sent to the PMC for review last week and everyone agrees that it looks good. It will be published this week in the Development Plan area of the web site.
The PMC agreed to release the BIRT 2.2.2 release in early January since the BIRT 2.2.2 stream is looking very strong. Making the release available to the community at the beginning of the year as a production release enables everyone to gain the benefits from the fixes available in the release earlier rather than later.
BIRT 2.2.2 is the second maintenance release in the BIRT 2.2 release series. The 2.2.2 release is focused on addressing critical bugs identified by the community.
The Development Plan for BIRT 2.2.2 will be available on the Eclipse BIRT Project Development Plan pages (http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/project/project_plan_R2_2_2.php).
For a list of bugs assigned to the release, refer to Bugzilla: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?classification=BIRT&target_milestone=2.2.2
BIRT 2.3 Development

BIRT 2.3 is the next major release of BIRT and part of the Ganymede Simultaneous Release.
The Development Plan for BIRT 2.3 is available on the Eclipse BIRT Project Development Plan pages at http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/project/project_plan_R2_3_0.php.
For a list of bugs assigned to the release, refer to Bugzilla: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?classification=BIRT&target_milestone=2.3.0
