Updating eclipse.ini on MacOS

On MacOS X, eclipse.ini is found under $ECLIPSE_HOME/Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS where ECLIPSE_HOME is the installation folder of your eclipse distribution.
The best way to get to eclipse.ini is using the Terminal shell which allows going into .app folders (as opposed to the default behaviour of Finder).
