Talk:Aperi/Test/Test Plans/IDVT3

Dave Wolfe: This looks fine. The only catch I can see is the install part which is really more my problem than yours. I have been thinking the new GUI would have an independent install from the current server/gui install since it is in fact its own independent application. Let me work with Ted and Todd on that. I approve the plan.

Brian Delaire (response to Dave's comments): Added a comment to the "Install and Configuration Tests" section to indicate that the RCP GUI is a separate and independent install from the current server/gui install.

Tom Guinane: The plan looks good. Section 1.1 Objectives, you do not list the 'IRA for Omegamon' nor the 'CBE/WEF Event Generation' items. Are those covered in bullet 4, 'integration of new functions and features into Aperi?' I just wanted to make sure everything gets covered in the test.

Brian Delaire (response to Tom's comments): Will add test scenarios to the test plan to cover the 'IRA for Omegamon' and 'CBE/WEF Event Generation' items.

Ted Slupesky: - Discussion of Abbot test automation: is this something that should itself be tracked in the dev meetings? It is a kind of coding. Is there a fallback plan if it doesn't get done in time? (Manual testing, I suppose). - It just occurred to me that references to the "Release Manager" ('approval of the Release Manager', 'approval of the Release Manager, Development Lead, Lead Architect, and the Test Lead') should probably be re-worked. To be more Eclipse-y, we might just want to say 'approval of the Project Lead'. This is not a power grab on my part -- it's just that those terms aren't things we've officially identified. I'm not proposing any changes in our de facto operations. Tom, what do you think? The alternative would be to document those roles.

Brian Delaire (response to Ted's comments): The test automation was supposed to be a "run at". This section has been removed from the test plan. Modified the approver of the the test plan to be the Project Lead and removed all references of a "Release Manager", "Development Lead", and "Lead Architect".

Ted Slupesky: I approve.
